I seem to attract them fellars!......
Welcome to our BIG TOP....

rambabe wrote:Dear Joan and Techie: I just found this crazy thread and am disappointed you did not not ask me personally to join your team. So I will just jump right in. Sorry I can't be much help with the goodies, as I have ARD ( Acid Reflux Disease for those of you not up on medical terms) and am on a very strict diet. I think Joan will understand as she is a diabetic. The rest of you can bring all the food and drink while i wallow with my apple juice and oatmeal.

OMG RB...I have GERD or Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease...I think they're the same thing. (I think I'm really falling apart here!) LOL...I take Nexium/Prilosec (PPI's) daily but it still is bad...I have so much acid in my body it isn't even funny! If I ever got put in jail all I'd have to do is puke on the bars and I'd be out in nothing flat! LOL...Sorry about the puke stuff...Just another word for barf or up-chuck, hurl, whatever suits your taste!
I can't do apple juice because of the sugar content but we can sit on the side -lines and sip on sugar-free popsicles, talk about our illnesses and drink water while we root them on! LOL

Geez, Joan, maybe we are sisters! lol. I can't imagine being a diabetic and having GERD. You are right GERD and ARD are the same thing. I take ACIPHEX daily, but as you said it is still bad. I will join you on the side-lines and root the rest of the team on!!

Maybe sooner. It could happen at any time. My sister has ARD & Lactose Intolorence, and Migraines, and loads of other stuff, and has had it since she was a teenager.

There is a book, I ordered it from the library. It's how to eat to keep your body's PH in an alkaline state. Cancer can't grow in an alkaline environment. You can test your ph with listhmus paper and your urine.

It's shows all the foods that cause acid and alkaline states in your body.
It's mostly a raw diet too.

Yeah and Rambabe and I already know...tomatoes, fruits (especially lemons, citrus types), vinegars, I can't eat papayas either, wines, etc...there's really too many to even try to name.
Even when I'm good my body seems to find a way to release way to much hydrochloric acid (I think that's the main digesting one) anyway!
It ain't fun getting older but it's better than the alternative! I've had this since I was in my early 30's and my youngest daughter started in her late 20s...(At least I think so...I haven't experienced that yet, so we'll see in time...) LOL

Unfortunately, yes! Unless you start eating healthy real quick! In addition to ARD I have suffered for years with migraines. And I have had hypertension and menopause for about the last 8 years. Before that I was real healthy. I've learned to live with it. I just think about all the people who are much worse off than I am.

True Rambabe. I've had migraines for the last few years. I'm almost 37 and I dread the stage of menopause---although the thought of no periods really appeals to me. LOL I try to eat healthy, but don't do it as often as I should especially with all the running I've done with the kids this summer. Mealtime stinks right now. In 6 weeks things will get back to normal.

I've actually lost 5 lbs this summer and I'm only 10 away from my goal weight----125 which I was before I had my first child. I feel tired and I'm sure most of it has to do with not eating the right foods.
